Exploring Charleston, SC

Over the weekend, Justin and I traveled to Charleston, SC where we met up with a group of friends for a super fun weekend of sightseeing. We kicked the trip off (and ended it, appropriately) with a delicious breakfast at Charleston's "best corner store," Queen Street Grocery, where the fruit and yogurt cup was definitely a crowd favorite. After strolling along the bay, exploring the streets, and taking in every antique shop possible, we happened upon Poogan's Porch for lunch. Their sweet biscuits, rich soups, and crispy crab cakes successfully filled everyone's southern craving. That night, after doing my best Lady Gage impression (witness the magic here) and turning my friend's staircase into a slide, we hit the town for a typical night out... with pink rimmed glasses in check. :) On Saturday, we visited Isle of Palms and toured Boone Hall Plantation, where Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds were married and where many scenes from The Notebook were filmed. I highly recommend making a day out of this. There's so much to see. On our last night, we went on a GhostWalk tour. As an avid watcher of Ghost Hunters, I'm always game for anything campy and fun. Our tour guide was hilarious (and possibly slightly intoxicated) and even shared some seriously creepy photos of ghosts that past group members captured while touring Charleston's most haunted places. While our trip was short, it certainly was memorable and I can't wait to get back and explore more of South Carolina. A long weekend just isn't enough time to take in a city as charming as Charleston.
