Fash Fave / Fail Friday

Fash Fave - Nicole Richie

The always fabulous Nicole Richie recently did some retail therapy in Beverly Hills looking beyond chic. There's not much I wouldn't do to have this stunning Celine bag in my possession. The heels, the vest, the gush worthy Nicole Richie staple sunglasses, everything about this look excites the fash lover in me. Nicole's been one of my fashion idols for years now and I am all kinds of excited for her TV return later this year as a judge on NBC's "Fashion Star." The House of Harlow 1960 and Winter Kate designer will join Jessica Simpson and host Elle Macpherson on the show, where a slew of aspiring designers will compete for a massive contract for their clothing line to be carried in major retailers. Sure it's not the most original idea, but with Nicole's addition I'm sure it'll be a must watch. What do you think of Nicole's Rodeo Drive ensemble?

Fash Fail - Mariah Carey

Look, I love "All I want for Christmas" as much as the next person, but I'll admit I have never been a fan of Mariah Carey and outfits like this remind me why. Everything about this look screams 1992. I can only assume that either Nick Cannon is a massive bargain shopper and this get-up was a result of an unneeded weekend at the local thrift store or Mariah got herself a nifty little duster for Christmas and went to town on her ancient wardrobe and pocket sized curling iron. Either way, according to Google and my own personal taste, self induced ringlet curls are both out and seriously unnecessary. I literally had to double check the date of these pictures. I don't know what decade Mariah is stuck in but between the spandex fit and awkward belt, I've officially removed "Always be my baby" from my Ipod. I don't care how good a song is, when an image like this pops in your head, it's impossible to enjoy a chorus no matter how catchy it is. Sorry M, your post baby body looks banging, but this get-up is a major fail. What do you think of this weeks picks for Fash Fave and Fail?
